For the perfect first burn:

Trim the wick to 6 mm before lighting.
For the first burn, burn for 2–3 hours and allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface to help prevent tunnelling.
Never burn your candle for longer than four hours.
Keep it away from draughts, air vents, open windows and anything flammable.
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
